| Sustainable Beauty | Green Achievements The first-ever awards dedicated to sustainability in beauty industry Nominations are now open for the inaugural Sustainable Beauty Awards! Five categories have been devised to represent the different aspects of sustainability, with winners to be announced at an evening reception in Paris on October 21, 2013. The Sustainable Beauty Awards were created to recognize cosmetic and ingredient firms who are pushing the boundaries of sustainability in the beauty industry, as well as to reflect the growing importance of green issues in the cosmetics industry. The five awards are: Green Formulations Award – for cosmetic brands with a high level of green (natural/organic) ingredients in their formulas. Sustainable Packaging Award – for cosmetic packaging that has a low environmental impact. Sustainable Ingredient Award – for a material that makes a significant difference in terms of ecological and/or social impact. Sustainability Pioneer Award – for a company that is a leader in a certain area. Sustainability Leadership Award – for an overall leader in sustainability. Finalists for each category will be chosen on October 1st, and the winner announced at a special drinks reception at the Paris Marriott Champs-Elysees on October 21st, in conjunction with the European edition of the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit.
